Madonna was a safe choice. The results are in. Sadly, I think she's having an identity crisis as she ended up looking like a bad imitation of Lady Gaga. She still could be cutting edge if she were willing to tell the world what cutting edge is for her, NOW. If it was the same as it was when she was "it" than she's stuck, she's lost herself. Real women evolve and change and grow and expand and get better and better. They do anything but stay the same...especially those on the cutting edge. I'm just sayin'... :)

I found this article so inspiring as I too have moved to another state due to my husband's new job and my children are out of the house, although one is in college in the state we used to live in. I am in that same situation: no kids, no friends, no job.....But what to do with myself, even though I desire some independent job that I am in control of, some days I feel the idea is almost there in front of me and then I am suddenly back to square one..

I have been attempting to go grey for a few years now but still have to put some highlights in as the back remains a stubborn dirty blonde so I try to blend as best I can. I think it all depends on your genetic colour some women have a natural silver colour. I saw a stunning example yesterday.

Been thinking about doing this. It's the awkward phase that's bothering me. Summer with a very short haircut would be a good time. I'm kind of curious to see what I will look like . Any ideas?

I LOVE Hillary Clinton, but her hairstyles and make-up lately have really made her look older. She seems to have aged twenty-five years in the past few months. I hope she's not sick. Her picture on her book cover was beautiful. She needs to go back to that look, not the way I saw her on today's television news report.

Having just turned 70, I can tell you that "elderly" isn't even CLOSE to where I am in my life. I've never been busier, happier, or more energetic -- nor have I ever felt as sexy or had such a high level of libido, passion for life and energy to enjoy it. If someone had told me when I was 50 that I would think that 70 is even BETTER, I would have told them they were crazy! But...guess what? For me, it is true. And for many of my friends who are close to my chronological age (younger and older), it is a similar story. For me, one "secret" is to NEVER NEVER NEVER RETIRE! just keep repurposing yourself, re-inventing what you are about, and dedicate yourself to endeavors, activities, work or avocations which excite you and hang out with people you love, younger and older.

A well written article for sure. My wife and I are nearly divorced too. For many reasons; the blame can be shared equally across the board, nevertheless, my heart aches for her comfort and well-being.

We struggled financially our whole marriage - raising a blended family of ten, adopting 12 teenagers from the streets and the such.. and, when we became "new empty nesters"; there seemed to be nothing left for us.

Today, though my heart aches for her companionship; I have no idea how to approach her in a way that would assure her that her needs will be met emotionally, spiritually and even financially. What to do?

I do love her so... just rambling.
